Description Marc Murphy 2008-07-07 20:33:49 UTC
gentoo or gentoo-nofb
* Starting udevd ...
/lib/rcscripts/addons/udev-start.sh: line 204: /sbin/udevd: Input/output  [!!]
Major number is 0.
* Populating udev with existing devices through uevents ...
/lib/rcscripts/addons/udev-start.sh: line 86: /sbin/udevtrigger: Input/output error [!!]
* Letting udev process events ...
/lib/rcscripts/addons/udev-start.sh: line 92: /sbin/udevsettle: Input/output error [!!]
* Finalizing udev configuration ...
Now there is a long pause, possibly infinite.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert CD into tray and boot.
2. Let it load modules.
3. Watch udev scripts print errors.

Actual Results:
I cannot get to a shell.

Expected Results:
I would like a bash prompt.

I/O errors imply a bad burn or at least bad hardware. Please verify your burned CD and reopen if it all checks out.
