I've also noticed that gnome-desktop-item.h in /usr/include/gnome-desktop-2.0/libgnome appears to be empty except for some "garbage" in it. Not using Gnome I don't know if it is supposed to have content or not.

Please attach the full build.log generated by portage after the crash.

Thanks

Which versions of libgnome, libgnomeui and gnome-desktop do you have?

Thanks
Comment 6 Chuck Wegrzyn 2008-07-01 15:01:38 UTC
libgnome 2.22.0
libgnomeui 2.22.1
gnome-desktop 2.22.2
Comment 7 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-01 15:20:48 UTC
Could you please run "emerge -1 gnome-desktop" and then try to reemerge nautilus?

Thanks
Comment 8 Chuck Wegrzyn 2008-07-01 16:42:43 UTC
That did it! Thanks. I ought to also say that I installed everything from the 2008.0 beta2 LiveCD and it seems to be racked with problems. I found myself having to rebuild glibc too!

Once again many thanks.
Comment 9 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-01 18:17:41 UTC
Thanks for testing. For the install problems, please get in touch with the releng team. Thanks
