this is not a gnome problem per-se . You just stopped using alsa (?) or at least you removed alsa-lib, but you still have other libs depending on it which this compilation uses. Find the lib which causes this and rebuild it. And i'm not sure you pasted the correct output here, cause i don't see any referral to asound in this part of the ouput.
right, I have build the packages in a pentium4 which uses alsa but mine computer does not, please get my applogises and remove this bug report! Regards Liviu
do: grep /usr/lib/libasound.la /usr/lib/*.la | awk -F: '{print $1}' then find the packages that those files belong to and re-emerge them.
