Oh, it a standard libtool 2 problem, for long term, upstream could simply rename those vars, the quickest short term is simply adding AC_SUBST for each of those vars.

I just had this on amd64.
As mentioned it's a libtool-2 problem, so going back to libtool-1 fixes it.
This is fixed in 2.0 in any case
