Description Will Saxon 2008-06-29 16:45:52 UTC
The default glest.ini file specifies a utopia font for glest. utopia is provided by either media-fonts/font-adobe-utopia-100dpi or media-fonts/font-adobe-utopia-75dpi, neither of which were installed on my system. The ebuild did not detect and account for this dependency.

Without this font, glest dies during startup with the following error:

Exception: Font not found.

Note: I initially worked around this by changing /usr/share/games/glest/glest.ini to specify a different font (helvetica). I then installed utopia and changed glest.ini back to its original configuration. Both of these things allowed glest to work. Then I uninstalled utopia and tried to run glest again. It still worked. I deleted my ~/.glest directory thinking it cached the font, but that did not make a difference. So I am not sure exactly what the problem is.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge glest
2.run glest
3.

Actual Results:
initially, glest failed with an error about not being able to find the font.

Expected Results:
glest should run without error

glest does depend on font-adobe-utopia-75dpi

I didn't check, honestly. It wasn't pulled in when I emerged.

Reopen if you can reproduce it. The font is in the dep list.
