Can't upstream make a new release for all those patches? Managing all those patches in the long run is going to be hell.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not sure any of us will be willing to maintain this patchset very long, if at all.

Seems that Bastien Nocera is the maintainer of rhythmbox in fedora and he's also an upstream maintainer. Maybe keep (more or less) synced to fedora's package would make this maintainance easier until a new release is provided. I can check for rhythmbox updates in fedora periodically if you want

I have just sent an email to their mailling list asking for plans about a new release

There's no way we can track this many patches sanely. We'll have to wait for a release, probably, unless one is really not coming at all soon.

But, what problem would be applying these patches on 0.11.5? All of them are already applied in trunk, then, when 0.11.6 was released all will be dropped as won't be needed :-/
Comment 7 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2008-07-09 08:37:46 UTC
Fixed in 0.11.6
