Description Andrey Kislyuk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-24 14:23:23 UTC
1. Emerged portage-2.2-rc1
2. Started noticing one or more messages "scanelf: Invalid format specifier 'a' (byte 2)" after (almost) every merge
3. Upgraded pax-utils from 0.1.13 to 0.1.17
4. Messages went away

Missed DEPEND?

I was in the same situation. The emerge to portage-2.2-rc1 was a bit scary as I had a two year old portage tree. Subsequent to the emerge of portage, I started noticing the same message "scanelf: Invalid format specifier 'a' (byte 2)"

After upgrading to pax-utils 0.1.13 to 0.1.17, I no longer see those messages.

Thanks!
