CIRCLEQ's are a really old thing and were removed from the real queue.h long ago since they can easily be implemented using a TAILQ. I'd see if upstream has addressed this in their code base and if not they should consider using an up to date queue.h built into their sources (for some reason glibc still ships with a queue.h from BSD 4.4 without any patches in the 10+ years since)
