Description Daniel Guenther 2008-06-22 09:21:15 UTC
I encounter a sandbox access violation error while emerging that package. It makes no difference which package version to install, all will give the same error.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge perl-core/File-Spec

Actual Results:
After a successfull comple of the ebuild the following occurs:

>>> Install File-Spec-3.25 into /var/tmp/portage/perl-core/File-Spec-3.25/image/ category perl-core
Skipping /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/Cwd/Cwd.bs (unchanged)

>>> Completed installing File-Spec-3.25 into /var/tmp/portage/perl-core/File-Spec-3.25/image/

LOG FILE = "/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-19324.log"

chmod:     /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/Cwd/Cwd.so
unlink:    /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/Cwd/Cwd.so

Expected Results:
I guess the ebuild should just install without that error... :-)

See Bug 264341. Try removing /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/version/vxs/vxs.so if 'dmesg'
shows "Build[25093]: segfault at 0 ip b7f1086e sp bfe47450 error 4 in
vxs.so[b7f0e000+5000]" after failed emerge, then emerge again.

Daniel is this still valid. perl-core/File-Spec installes and passes tests here. If this is still a problem please reopen the bug if needed. Thanks for reporting and sorry it took so long to report back.
