Many X11 errors that came with stabilization of sys-apps/hal-0.5.1{0,1} could be solved by upgrading to the now-testing x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-1.2.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: After having the keyboard fully recognized again by X11 (bug #200060 and others), finishing an X session and returning to xdm reproducibly failed from several window managers. Actual Results: The screen locked up, access was only possible via ssh from other machines. Expected Results: The screen shouldn't have locked up, xdm should have freshly restarted. Upgrading x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev to 1.2.0 solved this issue.
Well, it isn't stable, but tracking probably doesn't harm.
Um, assign...
Will be done as part of the stabilization of xorg-server 1.5.3 in bug #251832. Thanks
