Description FieldySnuts 2008-06-19 15:57:03 UTC
Hello,

The gentoo-dev mailing list, according to http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/lists.xml, is described as
“General Gentoo developer discussion mailing list”.

The list is widely understood to be for technical discussions. Richard Brown has frequently and repeatedly violated the Code of Conduct, in my opinion.

There are likely other events, however, for brevity I believe that focusing on two events should suffice. My apologies for the differing formats, for the first I do not have it locally any longer, and the second, I do have locally, but it has not shown up on archive web sites at this time.

In my personal opinion, the following Code of Conduct violations ( http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/council/coc.xml ) have taken place:

Section Three, Acceptable behavior, these items did not occur: “Be courteous”, “Respectfully disagree with or challenge other members”, “Using the correct forum for your post”, “Admit the possibly of fault and respect different points of view”.

Section Three, Unacceptable behavior, these items did occur: “Flaming and trolling”, “Posting/Participating only to incite drama or negativity”, “Being judgmental, mean-spirited or insulting”.

I would appreciate if the User Relations team would take a look at these incidents, and consider some type of action.

Respectfully,
Fieldy

amne became aware of this bug, after he made a comment on a related bug involving Richard Brown.

amne cannot see this bug (restricted), and he requested that I add a link to his comment today on that bug, which regards the same two emails to the list which I discussed in this bug.

Requested a 5 day silence for actions you've mentioned in association with the COC.

Attempted to cc rbrown@exherbo.org but unable to do so. Emailing personally.

email send to rbrown@exherbo.org

In accordance with bug #223733 comment 23 and http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228401

A request to have your access to the -dev mailing list has been placed with infrastructure. It will be lifted in 5 days.

Please consider in the future that your replies have substance and meaning to them, and are productive to the discussion at hand.

On Tuesday the 24 of june 2008 I will request the ban removed. Please consider this the last warning to be received before a ban of a much longer period (potentially permanent) is applied. Might not recall but you've had at least 1 warning from me before about the behavior.

Thank you and have a wonderfully quiet day.
