Latest stable version of krename is 2.6.2, portage has 2.5.3

cp krename-2.5.3.ebuild krename-2.6.2.ebuild
ebuild krename-2.6.2.ebuild digest
emerge krename-2.6.2.ebuild

Tested here, installs fine.  Sorry I can't help out and actually get this into portage... not that 
experienced yet...

krename-2.5.5.ebuild works for all versions up to and including 2.8.1.

2.8.2 is now in portage.
