Description Nils Kneuper 2008-06-18 18:29:59 UTC
On June 18 ATI Catalyst 8.6 has been released.
It brings new features and lots of bugfixes. Especially a new file for new XVideo formats was added (amdxmm.so). To include this file, I modified the ebuild, cf attached patch.

Beside this I also modified the name of the resulting "ati version" of glxgears. Since fgl_glxgears is also used in the Phoronix Text Suite and relies on the upstream name there, I modified the ebuild and renamed the (gentoo version) fgl_fglxgears to the "vanilla version" fgl_glxgears.

Reproducible: Always

Patch for 8.5 to 8.6

This patch adds amdxmm.so to installation. Beside this fgl_fglxgears is renamed to fgl_glxgears to match upstream.

Pretty sure this is 8.501, actually. And shouldn't we make a symlink to fgl_glxgears, like this:
dosym fgl_glxgears /usr/bin/fgl_fglxgears
to ease the transition? Won't do any harm, anyways.

+./arch/x86_64/usr/X11R6/bin/atiodcli
+./arch/x86_64/usr/X11R6/bin/atiode
^ Anyone know what those are for?

And, just to maintain tradition:

Please think of the kittens, dear suh.

Okay, looks like this patch was applied in the tree.
