Many manpages from sys-apps/man-pages-posix-2003a collide with files from sys-apps/man-pages-2.80.
that's because it's been split. unless portage can provide a clean upgrade method, users get screwed, and there's nothing to change.
I was under the impression they already had. Stick a blocker in there and newer Portages will know how to resolve around that. At least Zac had a big blog entry about it or some such.
URL ? point me to something i can read and i'll update the versions accordingly
I hit this file collision last night and added !<sys-apps/man-pages-3 blocker in man-pages-posix-2003a.ebuild. It's solved automatically by upgrading to man-pages-3.00 before installing man-pages-posix-2003a. I guess I should have peeked at the changelog. I looked at the ebuild itself and it seemed fine before I added my comment so I thought I was going nuts or Portage wasn't respecting what Mike put in there.
