The attached archive contains an ebuild for the chrony package (currently available from 
http://chrony.sunsite.dk), version 1.18. 
 
The ebuild contains a conf.d file and an rc-script which takes care of starting/stopping the daemon 
properly. 
 
The ebuild has been verified to install correctly on several systems (based on Gentoo 1.1a). 
It has *not* been tested to install correctly without readline installed, but the "--disable-readline" 
option to ./configure has been tested separately.

I have added the ebuild. I did change a few things, though:
It now automatically detects the pidfile, although chrony seems to ignore it
It puts everything in /etc/chrony, so /etc/ stays clean
