A new version of matplotlib is available.

This new version needs numpy-1.1

I have been testing Sébastien Fabbro's numpy 1.1 ebuild (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=225137).
I would be interested in testing the matplotlib 0.98 ebuild

I just copied the matplotlib-0.91.2 ebuild and commented out the patches and documentation.

It seems to work.

Now in cvs, together with 0.91.3. Be careful with 0.98.0, there is a lot of API changes.
