sun no longer offers the sources for the jmx reference implementation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. login with sun-online (sun download center) 2. go to jmx reference implementation source download page Actual Results: page states: Download (no longer available) Expected Results: download via link i used firefox (2.x) on gentoo with noscript and tried to download the sources after registering and logging in to sun online. i tried several times allways with the same result. the download page states that the download is no longar available.
The SCSL (_scsl) licensed version seems to have been removed, we only have the reference (_ri) implementation available. Would this work?
ok, so this is confirmed. i think the ri-version is a binary version. i am not a member of the java team but imho the ebuild should be named sun-jmx-bin and the former sun-jmx ebuild has to be (re)moved. is this in line with the usual conventions for ebuild naming? the licence of the ri-version seems to be sun-bcla(-jmx). imho there should be no problem to use the ri version instead of the scsl version with regard to functionality as the ri version should just be a compiled scsl version, shouldn't it? but probably someone has to confirm that via testing.
Package.masked dev-java/sun-jmx and package.use.masked dev-java/log4j jmx. See ML thread URL for log4j: http://www.mail-archive.com/log4j-dev@logging.apache.org/msg09295.html
Revbumped sun-jmx to use the binaries provided.
