Description fredrik danerklint 2003-06-11 12:23:32 UTC
Hi!

I've set up an rsync mirror for the portage here in Sweden, Karlskrona. The servername is
rsync.fredan.org. I don't have enough diskspace for the distfiles at the moment.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for the server. I do have one question
though. Does the server have at least 5Mbps full duplex bandwidth?

I think the Mirror documentation (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml)
changed since you submitted this.
Comment 2 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-07-25 10:05:27 UTC
Ignore that last comment (intended for another bug).

Sorry for the delay. Is the server still available? I've noticed that it
doesn't appear to be current.

Thanks.

Yes it's up and running. However, it (my rsyncing script) seems to have some problem with
syncing against your server; rsync2.de.gentoo.org (maximum connection is 7), if that could be
the case.

The ip address of the server is 212.214.15.132 and I have an 10Mbit connection to the
Internet.
Comment 4 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-07-29 14:51:52 UTC
I've added 212.214.15.132 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org.
Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org
and post back here when you've done so. We'll monitor the server
for a couple days to make sure things are working fine.

Thanks.
Comment 5 fredrik danerklint 2003-07-30 03:27:49 UTC
Okey, I've changed to the rsync1.us.gentoo.org server now.
Comment 6 Peter Penkala gentoo-dev 2003-08-05 20:45:25 UTC
I've added the server as rsync2.se.gentoo.org. Please update your motd to
include that info. I've also subscribed fredan-gentoo-bugs@fredan.org to our
low volume mirrors mailing list.

Thanks for supportig Gentoo.

Hi!

I've had some problem with my ISP and to that I don't have the ip-address
212.214.253.132 any longer. Can you remove me from the rsync(2).se.gentoo.org
rotation?
