Openoffice is not usable for me since some time. I did not have the time to find a working version, but i get the same problem with 2.4.0, 2.4.1, <2.4.0 about 1 month ago and latest -bin about 1 month ago. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Openoffice Writer 2. Write some letters (e.g. "asdf") 3. Backspace does not work, the arrow keys do not work Actual Results: See 3.. Expected Results: All keys work, i can use openoffice. stoile@troy ~ $ emerge -pv openoffice These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! Can't reproduce this, doesn't sound like an OOo problem to me. Are you sure there is nothing wrong with your keyboard setup? Anything special about your X.org / keyboard setup?
On the contrary, i'm quite sure this is a problem with my setup, but i did not see it on any other applications and i have no idea where to look for solutions. I have an Evdev-managed-keyboard in Xorg, German Layout, Nothing special, i think. and absolutely no problems with all the Mozilla, Gnome, KDE and Command Line applications i tried. Any idea how i could further debug this?

Do you still get that problem?
No, I don't have it anymore. Latest Openoffice works for me. app-office/openoffice-3.0.0
Thanks, by the way.
