Description Steve Kemsley 2008-06-11 12:26:44 UTC
sys-apps/dbus-1.0.2 - 1.1.20 if any group has a line length of > 512 bytes before the plugdev group definition dbus reports "unknown group plugdev in dbus config" upon startup of the service.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add users to any group before plugdev group definition in /etc/group (or plugdev itself) that forces the line length to be over 512 byte and then restart the dbus service and error will occur. Dbus continues to run but no automounting takes place.

Actual Results:
 * Stopping Hardware Abstraction Layer daemon ... [ ok ]
 * Stopping D-BUS system messagebus ...                                                                                                                                                                                           [ ok ]
 * Starting D-BUS system messagebus ...
Unknown group "plugdev" in message bus configuration file
Unknown group "plugdev" in message bus configuration file

Expected Results:
dbus to start without error message

On a system with a Hald of version <= 0.5.7 this error did not occur until I updated to latest version and then error occurs as with original system.

@cardoe: Is this how you like it?

Could not reproduce with dbus-1.3 using the described steps. Considering fixed.
