Well, this version is needed in portage. See bug #226023, the current latest version of gst-plugins-ffmpeg fails to compile with gcc-4.3.1 on x86.

Uses system ffmpeg, despite upstream + recommending against it. Debian, Ubuntu and a few others are already doing + this, though.
