Description John Murdoch 2003-06-10 17:07:35 UTC
After upgrading x11-misc/idesk to idesk-0.3.5-r2 on stable branch, idesk
execution persistently fails with "Couldn't find image , bailing." Even when I
have removed all the ~/.idesktop/*.lnk files, idesk still generates the same error.

I have spoken to developer ('timmfin' - see URL provided), and he suggests that
I move to unstable (idesk 0.5.5), as this bug has been reported to him before.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. In terminal: # emerge x11-misc/idesk
2. In terminal: $ idesk

Actual Results:
weejoker@titus weejoker $ idesk
Couldn't find image , bailing.
weejoker@titus weejoker $

Expected Results:
Loaded up idesk icons onto screen.

root@titus weejoker # emerge info
Portage 2.0.48-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r4)

Do you know when the unstable is going to be going stable ..? I'm not to familiar with idesk.. I might look into reassigning this..

I don't really know to much about this ... :-)

Hopefully you don't mind Dylan?

John: Can you tell me what version of media-libs/imlib you are running?
Comment 4 John Murdoch 2003-06-12 10:11:41 UTC
Running these:
media-libs/imlib 1.9.14-r1
media-libs/imlib2 1.0.6-r1

(Note: downgrading to idesk-0.3.5-r1 makes things work again)

i have tried reproducing this on several machines without avail... not sure what
the problem is. Can you try backing out and reinstalling, just to humor the
situation? Sorry, I'm at the end of my rope here.
Comment 6 John Murdoch 2003-06-17 11:15:54 UTC
Okay, I cleared out idesk-0.3.5-r2 completely:
# rm -rf /var/tmp/portage/idesk-0.3.5-r2
# emerge -C x11-misc/idesk
# emerge x11-misc/idesk

Yet I still get the same error.

When I do the same routine for -r1, it works fine. I'm guessing its the clickbox & singleclick patch at fault here.

idesk is at 0.5.6 now, thus this bug is INVALID.
