Description Stefan Triller 2008-06-10 09:00:55 UTC
I cannot compile the xserver at all. I found that problem back in 2003 in the gentoo forum for xfree, not xorg. But it seems that this bug is back again and I dont't know how to fix that..

I also tried to remove the "X" use flag for hal and the "hal" use flag for xorg-server to see if it is hal related, but it's still the same result.

../../mi/.libs/libmi.a(miregion.o): In function `miRegionEqual':
miregion.c:(.text+0x1281): undefined reference to `pixman_region_equal'

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
xorg-server does not compile at all

Expected Results:
xorg-server should compile without errors

Maybe update x11-libs/pixman? Please provide your emerge --info as well.

Comment 3 Stefan Triller 2008-06-10 09:30:30 UTC
I was missing media-libs/libpixman-0.1.6
and installed it.
But the problem stays the same unfortunately :-(
I want to install my new laptop, but I can't install anything else, because it needs X...
Comment 4 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-10 10:21:59 UTC
This was fixed by pixman commit fe43a2c1638ee75ca6bbc437a59461cc5c2b6f46 which is included in pixman-0.11.4 pixman-0.11.2 broke some ABI compatibility by dropping some exported symbols

Ah, yes thank you, its working now.

I should have had this commit yesterday, because now i still need to compile my KDE which could be already finished over night :-(
