Description Brett Edgar 2008-06-09 15:24:46 UTC
pam_mount 0.39 is segfault-ing on login. I've seen this on two PCs, both running AMD64. (One actually issued a "general protection" error instead of a segfault.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge '=pam_mount-0.39'
2.try to login with an account which will cause pam_mount to attempt to mount a drive
3. login fails

Actual Results:
login fails, returning the user to another login prompt

Expected Results:
login proceeds

pam_mount-0.38 does not experience this problem

Comment 2 Brett Edgar 2008-06-09 15:28:44 UTC
I enabled debug output in the /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml file and the login failed at the point that pam_mount tries to mount the first volume. Some further information about my situation: My mounts are not specified in the global configuration; rather, they are specified in a .pam_mount.conf.xml in my home directory. That file tells pam_mount to mount three SMB shares from a Windows 2003 (<sigh>) server.

This is where you should post emerge --info.

This isn't where emerge --info should go
Comment 5 Tom Rogers 2008-06-09 22:41:22 UTC
I have experienced exactly the same issue reported by Brett Edgar.

It looks like some dependency requirements have changed, specifically libHX and libXML2. I meet the system requirements for both 0.38 and 0.39.

Reverting back to 0.38 fixes the problem.

Here is my emerge --info
