Note the change to sf.net mirror, no more -src in the tarball, and RESTRICT="mirror" for testing purposes. plib doesn't appear to have changed version, all other dependencies appear to have remained the same.
Works here on amd64, but is it planned, that the binary is /usr/games/games/supertuxkart ? Looks like a games too much!
This is just a light modification of the existing 0.4 ebuild. I haven't changed any paths.

Developers of supertuxkart folows FSH strictly and they deliberately add game/ prefix before all installed stuff. So most easy way is to handle instalation ourselfs (i did a little chatie on #supertuxkart chan).
No, if they followed the FHS strictly they'd leave the decision about file locations up to the packagers.
i tried to explain this. That they should not add games/ prefix to everything they had hand on... But it works obvioustly for other distros and they don't want to switch it (maybe if we write patch, focus on word maybe) so i guess we can stick to this noauto install procedure which sets up everything correctly.

Maybe we should let this bug die with "unfixable"? Problem of this bug is very hard to handle so maybe realy it need to be closed and die with other heavy gentoo problems.

Created attachment 181707 [details] alternative ebuild for supertuxkart 0.6 Oops, didn't see this bug at first. I went ahead and created the attached ebuild. It does create the menu entry correctly. Did only minimal changes from the 0.4 version. Its the first ebuild I have made. Comments on it would be welcome even if its no longer needed.
supertuxkart-0.6.1a is in portage.
