The ebuilds for gtk-themes and metacity-themes are quite dated. I'd more choices in themes and I really miss Gonx and Smooth-engine for GTK2 and Galaxy for Metacity. On a sidenote, some of the themes in these packages are rather ugly, and TigertCrack is a dupe of the "simple" theme(or was it the other way around?). So if someone could clean up the theme section for GNOME, it would make my week. Also, what is this theme[1]? Could it be included as well? we'll look into updating the gtk-themes when we get some time. thanks. the answer to your second question, the mockup from OSnews, well, that is a mock up. it's the figment of some article writer's imagination. i don't think we'll see that theme/engine anytime soon.
at this time we're not interested in providing themes beyond the default ones in portage, extra themes can easily be installed per-user.
