Description Gordon Pettey 2008-06-05 18:34:13 UTC
The alsa-driver-1.0.16 package supports oxygen chipset sound cards, but oxygen is not included in IUSE, so alsa-driver cannot be compiled with oxygen support. The flag oxygen should be added to the IUSE list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. attempt to emerge alsa-driver with ALSA_CARDS="oxygen"

Actual Results:
 oxygen isn't a usable flag for ALSA_CARDS
Comment 1 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-06 08:56:48 UTC
alsa-driver is not supported by the ALSA herd. This is maintained by beandog. Note that you should be using in-kernel ALSA, where this would not affect you. Please see the notices on alsa-driver.

oxygen is definately in the IUSE_CARDS list.

Need emerge --info.

The in-kernel ALSA in stable kernel (2.6.24-gentoo-r8) is still at version 1.0.15.

If youre going to use alsa-driver, NEEDINFO.

As far as the original report, oxygen is in the ebuild.

Otherwise, this is INVALID.

Hi, what info is needed? Perhaps I can generate it. This is VERY important to me, as well as many others with oxygen chipset soundcards. I'd rather do it the Gentoo way, not the ALSA way. Willing to participate as needed. P.S. I have a shiny new 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 kernel with soundcards enabled as Module and nothing else: no ALSA or OSS in kernel. Where do we proceed from here?

AS You can see oxygen is shown as -oxygen and does not build. Help please?
