After upgrading to mozilla-firefox-3, the arrow-buttons for jumping back and forward in the history vanish from the toolbar. They can be added manually, but that should not be the normal behaviour. Reproducible: I've tested it two times. Steps to reproduce: 1) (Downgrade to mozilla-firefox-2.14 and) ensure you have the Back-/Forward-buttons in your navigation bar. 2) Upgrade to the masked package mozilla-firefox-3 Expected Result: The navigation toolbar does not change. Real Result: The Back-Forward buttons vanish. Temporary Solution: The buttons can be added manually by clicking (sorry, in German) "Ansicht"->"Symbolleisten"->"Anpassen"

rc2 has been added today, please try that and report back. You can change the language of the interface by starting Firefox from the command line like that $ LC_ALL=C mozilla-firefox
I think Mozilla has said there are bugs if FF2 and FF3 are installed in the same directory (don't know if that is the case for you). Is there an ebuild where we can get FF3-RC2?

Sorry, I misread the commit messages...firefox-bin is available as _rc2, but the source package is to follow soon, I imagine. So reopen for proper assignment.

Hello everyone, I've just been trying mozilla-firefox-3.0_rc2 ebuild. * I only have one version of FF at a time, since the ebuilds are not slotted and I use emerge to install it. * The problem re-appeared after the FF2.14->FF3_r2 upgrade. It also appeared after downgrading FF3_rc1->FF2.14. I think I found a way to the source of the problem: === If you "customize" your navigation bar, you see in FF2, that the Back-/Forward-arrows are two seperate items, while in FF3 they are merged to one single button. === The problem can/could be circumvented either by adding the button(s) manually or by deleting your "old" profile, but that's no solution for end-users ("stable", unmasked version). BTW: By disabling the language-plugin, I can now name the buttons I used to get the buttons back: "view"->"toolbars"->"customize" (as you already know *g*)
Not a bug then, in any case is a bug for upstream.
