mono crashes somewhere during: make[8]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/mono-1.9.1/work/mono-1.9.1/mcs/class/Compat.ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib'

I will attach the build.log.

I ran into the same segfault (I think) today, but re-synced a couple hours later. It ran fine (albeit with a ton of errors about unused declarations, and other junk). Perhaps there was something amiss with your ebuild set as well? could you try re-syncing, and re-attempt the compile?

Was like Andrew said: resyncing fixed this.
Apparently it was already detected and fixed by devs in the meantime.
