Googled around a bit and read that possibily the m4 file was not found. This might be an issue with 64bit autoconf or m4 as I have seen a number of people talking about this issue within the past few months and they all seemed to have the amd64 arch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge sys-apps/hal-0.5.9.1-r3 2. 3. Actual Results: failed to compile with autoconf saying that it cannot find the macros specified above. Expected Results: hal should be compiled on my machine
I am also getting a similar issue when trying to emerge media-sound/esound-0.2.38-r1 same error as before only autoconf spits out a different file with these contents: /var/tmp/portage/media-sound/esound-0.2.38-r1/temp/autoconf-6602.out ***** autoconf ***** ***** autoconf configure.ac:31: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_LIBTOOL_WIN32_DLL If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow. See the Autoconf documentation. configure.ac:32: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_PROG_LIBTOOL Could this possibly be an issue with my autoconf/automake ? I have tried to re-emerge autoconf but this does not fix the issue.
Its caused by too new a version of libtool. Marking as wont fix as HAL 0.5.11-r1 is stable, which contains a fix for this.
