Expected Results:
normal licq start

I think the problem has to do with my newest system uprate, since it appeared directly thereafter. Here are the five packages that have been updated with emerge -tvuND world:

sys-devel/gnuconfig
x11-libs/libX11
x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers
dev-lang/python
app-portage/porthole

HERE IS THE OUTPUT OF emerge --info:

Comment 1 Atanas Kamburov 2008-05-31 12:07:52 UTC
what I haven't noticed while submitting the report was that the problem actually comes from ICQND, the licq gtk plugin that I use. Licq works with other plugins, e.g. with the console plugin.
ICQND is not in portage, so I presume the crash is not a gentoo issue and I'm changing the status to INVALID.
