The GameCD's don't work for me anymore. Neigther the American Army nor the Wolfenstein GameCD does. I think the problem is the framebuffer support. The screen just goes blank after booting from cd and the keyboard lights Scroll Lock and Capslock turn on and stay on (they dont blink). I found out that the vga framebuffe module crashes my kernel when I load it manually and the riva module makes my screen blank - I can't see anything but Linux seems to be working. The only thing that works ok is vesa. I have an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Mainboard with a NForce 2 Chipset. I have a NVIDIA Geforce 4 Ti4400. I have 1.5 GB Ram. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2600+. Since you aren't able to choose any options before starting the Wolfenstein CD for example like turning off framebuffer support or something (this helped on all LiveCDs and GameCDs until now) I just can't start the cd anymore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. read details
hold shift key or set caps lock (it prints this to screen before loading kernel) to get a boot prompt, then type "nofb"
Well I tried everything with shift - having capslock on, pressing shift repeatedly since bios, pressing shift when it starts to spin up the cd to boot from and so on but after the message with pressing shift it instantly gets blank and the 2 keyboard lights turn on...
If it's not fixed now, it's not going to be fixed. Sorry guys, I just think the lead devs don't have the GameCDs in their current plans for world domination.
