hi,
after emerge rsync, emerge -up world showed:
Calculating world dependencies -
aux_get(): (0) Error in net-misc/bwwhois-3.2 ebuild.
               Check for syntax error or corruption in the ebuild. (--debug)

[ebuild    U ] dev-libs/glib-2.2.1-r1 [2.2.1] 
[ebuild    UD] net-p2p/mldonkey-2.04_rc1 [2.5-r1] 
[ebuild    UD] sys-apps/reiserfsprogs-3.6.4-r1 [3.6.8] 

these packages are only a few days old, appearently the mirror had old ebuilds.
after rsyncing to another mirror, the packages listed above were left alone.
the mirror i was syncing against had the following motd:

Verified that the timestamp file is missing.  Email sent to
contact.  rsync4.de has been removed from the rotation, though
is still available as rsync4.de.

Made a few spot checks.  This server seems to be syncing again, so I've 
added it back to the .de rotation.
