The boot fails on an am-2 system using the MCP51 IDE controller.  Upon closer inspection of dmesg from the rescue shell, I could see no IDE devices and no CDROM drives present.  

SATA controller was seen just fine, HD was recognised, but not PATA.  

Reproducible: Didn't try

This should be fixed in 2008.0, which is now released.
