We just set up a complete distfile Mirror on our well-known FTP Server, which allready serves as mirror of Debian, FreeBSD, CPAN and many others. Server is connected via multiple OC-12 uplinks and OC-48 to the Deutsches Forschungsnetz (DFN), the network of German Universities, so speed should be reasonable. This server is accessible via FTP and WWW. URLs are: ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo We set up RSYNC to ibiblio.org every 4hours. ftp is also reachable via ftp://ftp6.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo http://ftp6.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo for the ipv6 users. ftp.uni-erlangen.de has no AAAA record.
