sys-cluster/wulfware ships a xmlsysd service to monitor on GRID-, Beowulf-, LAN- and server farms.. xmlsysd 7887/tcp # xmlsysd remote system stats (clusters) so far we only have a pkg_postinst message saying user should add it..
hrm, 7887 has already been registered with IANA: ubroker 7887/tcp Universal Broker ubroker 7887/udp Universal Broker
Some history, I added wulfware to replace xmlsysd and wulfstat which haven't been touched since 2004 or so, and wulfstat was unemergable (no distfile) for long time and noone reported about it. So conclusion, this doesn't have so many users. Would it make sense to leave it as postinst message, and close this as RESO, CANTFIX? Vapier?
if consumers are low, then that sounds fine to me since the pkg isnt modifying /etc/services
thanks for your quick reply.
