After upgrading from wget-1.10.2 to wget-1.11.1 herdstat fetch mechanism stopped working. It seems like an incompatibility in flags/options passed to wget. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge =net-misc/wget-1.11.1 2. emerge herdstat 3. Are you using the default FETCHCOMMAND and RESUMECOMMAND from /etc/make.globals or have you overridden them in /etc/make.conf?
I normally use deltup but commenting it out did not solve the problem either.
Please post the output of the following command: portageq envvar FETCHCOMMAND RESUMECOMMAND
When I comment it out. /usr/bin/wget -t 5 -T 60 --passive-ftp -O ${DISTDIR}/${FILE} ${URI} /usr/bin/wget -c -t 5 -T 60 --passive-ftp -O ${DISTDIR}/${FILE} ${URI} When I use deltup /usr/bin/getdelta.sh ${URI} /usr/bin/wget -c -t 5 -T 60 --passive-ftp -O ${DISTDIR}/${FILE} ${URI}
(In reply to comment #0) > Cannot specify -r, -p or -N if -O is given. > Usage: wget [OPTION]... [URL]... I'm not sure why it's giving you that error. Perhaps it's something from ~/.wgetrc or /etc/wgetrc that's triggering it?
Created attachment 153793 [details] wgetrc /etc/wgetrc file
By the way merging libherdstat with "curl" USE flag is a workaround for the issue.
(In reply to comment #7) > By the way merging libherdstat with "curl" USE flag is a workaround for the > issue. This suggests that it's some problem with the way that herdstat calls wget, and has nothing to do with portage.
libherdstat/herdstat are gone (as per p.mask on June 7th 2008)
