Description Michael Beasley 2008-05-19 20:37:36 UTC
I believe this is related to a recent update from =dev-lang/lua-5.1.2-r2 to =dev-lang/lua-5.1.3-r1 as the 'stable' version of dev-lang/lua. The game worked fine before the update.
Comment 1 Michael Beasley 2008-05-19 20:38:04 UTC
As stated in the summary, =games-sports/xmoto-0.3.4 crashes with an undefined symbol error; if one attempts to re-emerge the package it fails with:

The game builds and plays fine with =dev-lang/lua-5.1.2-r2

Ok that is problem with depercated patches in lua
it needs only checking as version 0.4.X
use rather version 0.4.X where it is fixed, i'll post patch, but since they are both testing why not use 0.4.2 with new features rather than 0.3.4

Works great, thanks Tomáš.
Comment 6 Mike Limansky 2008-05-25 10:33:51 UTC
The same result with a current stable xmoto-0.2.0 - previously built version crashes with "xmoto: symbol lookup error: xmoto: undefined symbol: luaL_openlib", and it couldn't be reemerged.

As I see there is a sablereq for xmoto-0.4.2: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=221795. Does it be blocked by this issue?
Comment 7 Evil Compile Person 2008-10-05 16:47:42 UTC
Fixed through bug 221795, closing.
