2008.0_beta2: The default color depth on the live CD is set to 24, which results in a garbled screen once X starts on a Nvidia GeForce 6200. I would suggest changing the default color depth to 16 in order to support more hardware. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot from 2008.0_beta2 live cd 2.Watch as X starts up 3.Try to read something on the screen Actual Results: Garbled screen output Expected Results: Clear screen output Workaround: Ctrl-Alt-F1 to a text console after boot has completed, edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and change DefaultColorDepth to 16. Ctrl-Alt-F7 and then restart X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. Screen image now appears correctly.
I removed the DefaultColorDepth, entirely. It shouldn't be needed on modern X.Org servers.
Is this still an issue with the 2008.0 final media?
