Booted the Gentoo 2008.0 Beta 2 minimal InstallCD and everything went 'nice and smooth', except for the fact that, it didn't ask to change the key mapping. Even with the dokeymap option. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn the computer on with the InstallCD in the DVD/CD drive 2. Change the Grub options to ensure that dokeymap is present 3. Boot the InstallCD Actual Results: InstallCD didn't ask for the keymap that should be used. Expected Results: InstallCD should have asked for the keymap. I should mention that I was using a x86 InstallCD on a laptop with the following characteristics: Core 2 Duo T7300 2Gb RAM GeForce 8600 GS .... all the hardware was detected without any problem, I know I should be using amd64 InstallCD :P
I can confirm this with my Laptop. I've tested ISO integrity. I'll check with whatever prerelease I can find on poseidon.
I tested it in my desktop (AMD Athlon XP) and it still doesn't ask for the key mapping. Will download the ISO, burn it and test again. Meanwhile, I used ssh to make the install process easier :P
Changed severity to trivial, since it can get around easily using ssh.
This should be fixed in 2008.0 final.
