Description Mike Weissman 2008-05-16 19:26:16 UTC
If you try and run squid-graph without dev-perl/GD built with USE"png" you will get this error:

"Can't locate object method "png" via package "GD::Image" at /usr/bin/squid-graph line 990, <STDIN> line 2837026."

Suggest adding something like:

einfo "Please confirm that dev-perl/GD has been emerged with USE='png'"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge dev-perl/GD USE="-png"
2.emerge squid-graph
3.squid-graph --tcp-only --cumulative --title="Foo Squid Graph" --output-dir=/root/graphs < /var/log/squid/access.log

Actual Results:

Error:
Writing to file /root/squidgraphs/tcp-access.png
Can't locate object method "png" via package "GD::Image" at /usr/bin/squid-graph line 990, <STDIN> line 2837026.

Expected Results:
# squid-graph --tcp-only --cumulative --title="TestGraphSquid" --output-dir=/root/squidgraphs < /var/log/squid/access_log

build_with_use() check is what you want - as long as we don't have use dependencies at least
Comment 2 Mike Weissman 2008-05-17 05:25:59 UTC
I Thought per the Gentoo Dev Manual:

"Currently it is impossible to depend upon 'foo built with the bar USE flag enabled'"

Thus i assumed that build_with_use referred to mandatory USE flags for the ebuild only not for dependencies.

Thank you for report, Mike. Fixed in CVS.

build_with_use is a function in eutils.eclass which allows to test if package was built with specific use flag or not. Check eclass code for further details.
