sip-4.7.5 was released on May 13. It is required for PyQt4-4.4, which supports qt-4.4. I'll post a suggested ebuild.

4.7.5 is in CVS. Thanks for reporting :)
Darren, when attaching ebuilds it's a better idea to just attach a diff.
