I've done some very ugly things in the install section to get examples and contributed scripts from the dist into the right places on the filesystem.  Any suggestions for better execution of this would be appreciated.

In the ebuild, shouldn't 
RDEPEND=${RDEPEND}  
be 
RDEPEND=${DEPEND}
