Description Dustin Polke 2008-05-13 09:53:09 UTC
snort was -sparc masked Jan 11, 2005 because it segfaulted. However, the affected version is not in the tree anymore and the actual stable version 2.6.3.1-r1 on many other archs is compiling and functioning fine.

Could someone from the sparc team look into this and confirm this (or proof me wrong). Would be nice to have it back ~sparc.

BR,
Dustin

Reproducible: Always

Hi Dustin, why don't you test it yourself and report back whether it works?
Comment 2 Dustin Polke 2008-05-13 10:01:46 UTC
It works for me on the stated box (emerge --info).
Comment 3 Jan Kundrát (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-13 10:08:20 UTC
Hi netmon, please add sparc@ if you agree with keywording.
Comment 4 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-13 10:53:20 UTC
sparc, please do this.
Comment 5 Ferris McCormick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-13 14:15:30 UTC
I've added ~sparc to both snort-2.6.1.3-r1 and snort-2.6.1.4. Snort is a bear to set up, but simple tests just monitoring local network traffic no longer crash. And I don't remember how to create the old SegFault, so these versions are now available for testing. I'm closing the bug, but adding myself to the CC list --- please reopen if problems show up.
