Hi, there. I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to combine the "gentoo-stats" project with the "CFLAGS/cpuinfo Survey"? Perhaps merge the CFLAGS script (with tuning) into gentoo-stats, then wait for people to emerge -u gentoo-stats, and let the data flow in... Apologies if this has already been brought up. And apoligies if this isn't the right Bugzilla Component to file under... please re-assign as needed.
gentoo-stats is an ongoing projects. My CFLAGS/cpuinfo work on the other hand is a short-term project. Unfortunetly the gentoo-stats system doesn't collect all of the information which I was interested in, hence the seperate collection system I put in place. The gentoo-stats people are looking at expanding their data collection, but I needed the data before that. At the present rate of data input to the CFLAGS project, I predict that in approximately 2 weeks, I will have both enough data for very good quality output. My present codebase is designed to be easily extensible with more data as needed.

Um, sorry, this was closed, but what's the final state of the CFLAGs project? Is it being merged with gentoo-stats (which still appears somewhat broken)?
The CFLAGS project is in portage and was one of the features for the 1.4 release. emerge genflags.
