Kmyfirewall contains a explicit "Gentoo Mode" option.  This is set on install by
a value in /usr/share/config/kmyfirewallrc

currently, the relevant block reads:

[PATHS]
gentoo_mode=false
install_path=/etc/kmyfirewall/

I don't think it would be too unreasonable to change the default to
"gentoo_mode=true" when kmyfirewall is being installed through portage.  If it
is undesireable to be changed in the original package (probably) then perhaps it
can be patched in the ebuild.

0.9.6 ebuild now supports this replacement.  Thanks for the report.
