Seems to be an old, patched GRUB bug.
Grub doesn't support large memory.
Generates 'Error 28: Selected item cannot fit into memory'.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot on amd64 system with 4GB,

Strange.  All of my test machines (amd64) have >=4GB of RAM.  I'll have to re-check this on one of them.

This doesn't matter anymore for us, since the 2008.0 final media uses isolinux
