Description Jan 2008-05-10 13:50:35 UTC
Upgrading from nano 2.0.7 to 2.1.1 (with USE flags: ncurses nls unicode) failed due to compile error:

i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/share/locale\" -DSYSCONFDIR=\"/etc\" -O2 -march=pentium-m -pipe -fforce-addr -falign-functions=64 -MT global.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/global.Tpo -c -o global.o global.c
global.c: In function 'shortcut_init':
global.c:1036: error: 'do_spell' undeclared (first use in this function)
global.c:1036: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
global.c:1036: error: for each function it appears in.)

---------
I looked at the code and suppose the problem is that "do_spell" is declared depending on the flag DISABLE_SPELLER but that flag is not checked before referring to "do_spell" in global.c (instead NANO_TINY is checked). I did not feel like messing with the #defines to try and fix it though...

building with "minimal" USE flag works flawlessly.

A temporary work around is to add "app-editors/nano spell" to package.use.
After that package compiled correctly, on my box.

Hope it helps
