Description Billy DeVincentis 2008-05-04 00:17:04 UTC
This appears to have begun recently and unfortunately reemerging kuroo didn't help. When a new version of a package is released, that package should show up in updates column with the installed version as the current version and the update as the emerge version. That no longer is happening. Emerge version shows as same version as installed version and after updating to new version, installed version shows the installed updated version as unavailable.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 2 Billy DeVincentis 2008-05-17 15:38:34 UTC
Seems that kuroo no longer receives signal to update package info when something is emerged. You must manually hit refresh packages.
Comment 3 Billy DeVincentis 2008-05-17 16:41:46 UTC
more specifically, when emerging a new package, kuroo picks it up and it shows up, but when changing versions, upgrading or downgrading is when it doesn't reflect the changes.
Comment 4 Billy DeVincentis 2008-05-22 22:35:36 UTC
Okay,I have found the problem. After portage was updated to 2.15 metadata-transfer was disabled by default. For proper operation, kuroo needs it enabled. Add it to this part of your make.conf

FEATURES="buildpkg fixpackages metadata-transfer parallel-fetch"

Comment 5 Ingmar Vanhassel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-22 23:16:45 UTC
Added an ewarn message to the Kuroo ebuilds to make users aware that FEATURES=metadata-transfer isn't default anymore.
Thanks.
