Description fbusse 2003-05-31 06:47:44 UTC
The new transcod fixes some bugs and adds support for DivX 5.0.5 (see #21649).
Since the lame-bug is fixed (see #21771), only renaming of the ebuild and, if the
new ebuild is in portage, depend on divx4linux-20030428.
So please bump the version.
Comment 1 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-31 08:09:22 UTC
A little note: remember to change dependency to >=media-libs/libdv-0.99 (~x86)
transcode won't compile with libdv-0.98 (also stated in transcode changelog).

Like Fridtjof, I also suggest the dependency: avi? ( >=divx4linux-20030428)

However, the ebuild works for me.

transcode-0.6.7 diff

Updates the libdv and two other dependencies (now we just need
divx4linux-20030428 in portage)
Comment 3 Todor Zviskov 2003-05-31 11:04:39 UTC
There are also ffmpeg fixes since 0.6.4 - ffmpeg simply didn't work in transcode if you had ffmpeg packages merged before merging transcode (it links with the wrong libraries). Furthermore ffmpeg is present in the ebuild's dependencies and therefore ffmpeg simply won't work in transcode < 0.6.6 if you do `emerge transcode'
Comment 4 fbusse 2003-06-08 02:00:45 UTC
Could somebody please bump the version to 0.6.7 (testing)?
Comment 5 fbusse 2003-06-28 23:58:34 UTC
transcode-0.6.7 is now the stable version for one month and fixes quite a few
annoying bugs, but it's still not in portage.
Is there a maintainer for transcode in gentoo at all?
Comment 6 Stefan Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-29 11:18:57 UTC
I will steal this bug as I am ripping some DVD's so can test.

I will also do dvdrip while I am at it.
Comment 7 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-29 11:33:37 UTC
problem is 0.6.6 and 0.6.7 doesn't compile here on by both dev machines

dvd::rip is up2date, just checked it in
Comment 8 Stefan Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-29 11:43:22 UTC
I saw the dvdrip update, thanks and sorry for bug stealing.

I have compiled transcode-0.6.7 ok here.

Just my glibc b0rkes out as I have a CVS branch installed, fixing now.

Can I see the compile error log?
Comment 9 fbusse 2003-06-29 11:52:47 UTC
0.6.6 and 0.6.7 compiled both fine here, otherwise I wouldn't have submitted this
bug :) BTW: Please don't forget to bump the DivX-version and apply the patch if you
put 0.6.7 in CVS.
Comment 10 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-29 12:29:32 UTC
seems this was an old error with 0.6.4
0.6.6 (which i commited into cvs) and 0.6.7 compiles fine
Comment 11 fbusse 2003-06-29 12:35:44 UTC
Works fine here too.
But please don't forget to update DivX and bump transcode to 0.6.7, since 0.6.7 will
probably stay stable for some time.
Thanks :)
Comment 12 Stefan Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-29 12:59:17 UTC
Fixed my glibc ... transcode doesn't like nptl btw .....

I have added all the requested changes, many thanks.

I have tested it, anyone want a Charlie's Angels trailer??

seems that you didn't checked it in
